The cork museum

With its essence of the past, this charismatic museum is located in one of the most important former cork factories in Spain. The building, constructed at the end of the 19th century, is notable for the Modernist-style decoration on the main façade. Its water tank, also considered to be in Modernist style, is unique in Catalonia. From the top of the Tower you can enjoy magnificent views of the Empordanet.

Can Mario and the Vila Casas Foundation

This institution was constituted in 1986, thanks to the pharmaceutical entrepreneur Antoni Vila Casas, with the aim of promoting contemporary Catalan art. Its centre is in Palafrugell (on the Can Mario site) and brings together some 220 sculptures dating from the 1960s, belonging to various artists born and residing in Catalonia.

The daily market takes place between the covered fish market, the meat market and the fruit and vegetable market on Pi i Margall street. It has been awarded the EMAS environmental certificate and offers a wide variety of local products, as well as a wide range of fish from our region.
During the months of July and August you can stroll through the Palafrugell market, from Monday to Sunday.
